Some people are more sheltered John.  I got Big brother routed from a biker festival two years ago to play in my friend's bar in Indiana.  Sam did it as a favor but while waiting for the plane in the bar, a guy walked in and saw a poster that said Big brother was playing that night.  I explained it was the original members of BBHC and he asked me if janis would be singing with them.
How do you respond to that ignorance?
As for this cadotte festival.......
Vic ferrari-couldn't get arrested outside his own area
Dio- actually sings well and is good with a crowd but without Appice, hmmmm better in ELf and Blackmore's rainbow (he's also a midget)
The Scorpioons-were great fopr a metal band but.....mostly with the Schenker's.  Klaus meine can't carry the band
Deep Purple - is basically the original line-up and i actually like them. Glover, Gillian, Blackmore, .....Jon Lord.........even later members had significant backgrounds, i.e., Steve morse on last release, Glenn Hughes from trapeze and Tommy Bolin.

Firehouse- came from Louisville, should have stayed in the basement
AWB - never the same after the bass player was stabbed to death in Chicago
CCR- exactly that without Fogerty.  Two hall of famers but..........Ted nugent_ Wang dang tango??? i would rather see his bow & arrow expertise
Journey-without Steve Perry??????some like them and some don't.  For me, it's like going to see The beatles without John or george.
Loverboy- Mike reno is a walking commercial for jenny Craig and no others from the band were with him that i know of.
blondie - The posing for Playboy days are over and with two marginal hits, how can an entire set be correlated????
George Thorogood- He's changed the title and a few words but, he's played the same three cords and "Bad To The Bone" for over two decades............
Robert Plant - is still a great show, assuming he does "Ship Of Fools" but even the new incarnation of his blues band is really good, i.e., like Bill Wyman.
He played with Shemekia Copeland in Switzerland, 2000.  She likes him as well and at 22, she is the reigning queen of that genre as all her peers like Ruth brown, Odetta, etc., are all about 100 years old.
Off to walk the dog.......peace
Don
