As far as rabies is concerned, I don't know of a single raccoon-human link but that doesn't mean that they have not infected other animals (wild or domesticated). |
Just don't hand feed it, because it might bite you either accidently or purposefully. Then you'd have to seek attention and report it. Animal Control will then round up any raccoon in the area, whether it be the culprit or not, cut its head off and then send it to a lab to check for rabies. In any case, you'd still have to undergo the rabies injections as a precautionary measure.
