Not many people remember Jonathan Schwartz who filled the 6:00PM to 10:00PM slot Mon - Fri. He was one of the best on WNEW until he retired and moved to Montana if I recall correctly.|
I still have a few concert broadcast tapes from the early 70's by the Dead, NRPS, ABB, Joni Mitchell, Rolling Stones 1975 flatbed truck performance, Springsteen, and JS. Fortunately I was able to salvage those shows on CD despite the age of the tapes.
Everytime someone released a new album, the DJ would play the entire album without interuption. That practiced died in the mid 70's and was the death knell of classic FM radio.
