It's good to see some journalism on this band from someone who actually knows what they've been up to in recent years.  I imagine a mainstream paper would start out making some cutesy comment about  their age, falsely describe them as a nostalgia act, and go downhill from there.  This is what's called music journalism in the Washington Post, for example.

I'd like to see the mainstream press cover the next Who or Stones tour WITHOUT saying a word about their age.  I don't think such an article has been written since Townshend and Jagger were 29 years old.

By the way, I've done a couple of pieces on "our"  band in the more "underground" press myself--an interview with Paul in 1992 and a concert review in 1996.  It's important to share the information with the unknowning public: what the band is today, not what it was ten or twenty years ago.

Why is it important?  Because people are STILL coming to shows expecting Craig, Mickey, or Grace!  I'm not knocking previous incarnations here; it's just that people don't know what to expect because the media (FM included) doesn't keep up with bands like Jeffeson Starship at all.

I like what you've done in this (and other) commentaries.  Keep up the good work.
