Your response to my calling NYC "the City of Heroes" is interesting to me, because I am wondering whoever said that all the heroes in this country live in NYC? I am also wondering whoever implied that the "defining trait" of a "hero" is a "genetic quality that generates from the east coast"? It wasn't me. Where are you getting this stuff from? Why the resentment, please?
The last thing I would want to see after so much damage and destruction in this country is an "east coast vs. west coast" rivalry over which city contains the most heroes. Where are you getting your perceptions from? Feel free to "discuss" offlist if you want, as I think you know me at least well enough to tell me what's behind your interpretation of anything that I have said publicly.
As for families of non-uniformed workers not receiving their compensation in a timely manner, I don't know why that is, and I agree that they deserve to receive their benefits as quickly as possible. I don't know why there is a delay on that.
And yes, I am sure that San Francisco has its share of "heroes", as do many other cities in the country and in the world. You have misread me if anything I've said in previous posts implied that I believe otherwise.
Peace to you, Don,
