What was interesting about that show was that several of the songs performed that evening were not on any album yet. They performed Stranger, which I heard previously at the Capitol Theatre, the first time for Save Your Love and a few other new songs. What made the last song stand out so vividly in my mind was that the JS came back for a rare second encore. Paul conversed with everyone for a few moments and then they broke into the song about a Wheel. I do not believe it is the same Wheel on the 1989 album.
Several months earlier the JS performed at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ. A date most JS fans of BATE would know, November 23rd. That night was the first time I heard Stranger performed with the double lead with Craig and Pete and rythem guitar being played by Mickey Thomas. At the end of Dance with the Dragon, the JS played a teaser chord of what I believe to be the Stones, Satisfaction. It definitely wasn't the typical ending associated with Dw/the Dragon. Also, the JS teased the audience with the a chorus of I Want to See Another World and then broke into I believe Don't Let it Rain.
The Capitol Theatre show was also the only time I was ever able to see the late Rory Gallagher. The following night I was back at the Capitol for Jorma ...
