I disagree, Eth--   It's the director himself explaining that the image [of the arrow shot toward the bull's-eye] was their trademark (or as the writer in the 2nd quote says:) the way they signed each film.  Powell explains how he chose the name, "the Archers," & the image, & cites the poem that was the inspiration behind it (with its wry consolation that even if the golden arrow missed Naples, at least it didn't hit Margate)...The other two writers add the explication that where the arrow hits (how close to the bull's-eye) in each film reflects Powell & Pressburger's own assessment of how close or far away that film was from reaching the mark of their creative aspirations...
