My mother says he got kicked off the airwaves for a month once when he cracked an off-color joke on live radio. The USA had just entered WWII and about the same time women's hemlines went up considerably. Bob remarked something like "If those skirts go up any further, women are going to have two sets of hair to comb and two sets of cheeks to powder" |
